Name: Heather Moran
Origin: United Kingdom
Classes: English, Business Ethics
Ms. Moran chose to become a teacher because she wanted to share her love for English and have the opportunity to see her students progress daily. She chose to teach English because she is passionate about words and the powers they have. She teaches business ethics because she wants to “live in a fair and sustainable world”. Before coming to St. Mary’s Ms. Moran taught at The Greenwich Free School in London. She chose to come to St. Mary’s because of the school’s excellent reputation. She feels that athletics and the arts are incredibly important at St. Mary’s.
During her free time Ms. Moran likes to cycle, do yoga and knit. Her favorite board game is Articulate. If Ms. Moran was stranded on an island for a year and could only have 3 books she would want Wild Swans by Jung Chang, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara and One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Before coming to Japan Ms. Moran lived in the UK, Australia and, briefly, Uganda.
